MySQL addon has been discontinued

DiscountASP.NET has discontinued offering the MySQL Addon, because:
1. There are no MySQL ODBC drivers for Windows 2008 at this time.
2. MySQL is not our core competence and business focus.

3. With Sun’s acquisition of MySQL, it is unclear what will happen with MySQL.

I assume future of mysql is future of development, all the open source CMS are based on mysql which is the first choice of developer.

please share your thoughts and knowledge about it.
